Please avoid the following two common placement mistakes:   Placing the scale on an uneven or tilted surface   Placing the scale on a soft or unsteady surface (such as a carpet, rug, or foam mat) However,  most importantly  – when you receive your scale, you  MUST  first remove the  4 white shipping pads  located at the bottom of the scale. These pads are installed  only for protection during transportation . If they are not removed before use, the scale cannot balance properly, and the readings will  never stabilize !   Correct action: Turn the scale over. Remove all 4 white pads.
